Maximize health and wellness and decrease risk of falls
Physical Therapy for Osteoporosis and Osteopenia
Osteoporosis is a condition where bone density decreases resulting in the weakening of bones. It is typically detected through a routine bone density test or after a fracture occurs. Osteopenia is diagnosed when there is some loss of density to the bones but not to the extent of osteoporosis. Besides adapting your diet, physical activity can be extremely beneficial in the maintenance of health and physical therapy can help decrease the risk for complications from osteopenia and osteoporosis by focusing on your strength, balance, and general mobility.
