One Day at A Time: Malia’s ACL Jour-KNEE
ACL reconstruction rehabilitation is a LONG journey. It is definitely challenging physically but the mental component takes a lot of strength to overcome as well. Having to sit on the sidelines of her high school basketball games is tough, but Malia is taking her rehab one day at a time and looking forward to coming back stronger than before!
How did you injure yourself?
“Basketball scrimmage”
What are some of the challenges you have faced so far with your recovery?
“Having to watch practice and not being able to play for my high school team.”
What has been a positive component to your recovery?
“Seeing how many people are supporting me. Also, seeing PT firsthand.”
What are your goals?
“Be ready for spring/summer basketball and come back stronger than I was before surgery.”
What’s advice you would give someone that just found out they tore their ACL and have to have surgery?
“Keep pushing through it even though it can be hard physically and mentally at times.”
