Confident and Safe Transition Back to Sports
The A.I.M. program is designed to allow for a confident and safe transition back to sports for athletes of all ages and skill levels. Sport-specific skills are implemented into a physical therapy program, resulting in improved motivation and confidence to return to competition. Integrating these skills into an athlete’s rehab assists with maintenance of an athlete’s skill level while being sidelined from their sport. The doctors of physical therapy at OPTI will provide direct, one-on-one treatment with the injured athlete, individualizing rehab programs to meet the demands of the sport to which the athlete will be returning. The goal is to improve strength, agility, power, endurance, coordination, and speed to allow for a safe, confident, and successful return to activities like sprinting, jumping, landing, and cutting.
Athletes are seen at our main clinic along with our Athlete’s In Motion (A.I.M.) clinic which allows for access to field turf. If an athlete’s sport does not involve a turf surface, other sports arenas or locations are utilized for sport-specific rehab including basketball, volleyball, and tennis courts, grass fields, tracks, swimming pools, and ice rinks to provide proper exposure before transitioning back into a sport.
